About Byron McCaughey
I am a registered provisional psychologist who blends a calm and engaging style with a goal-oriented and practical approach to therapy. I support individuals of all ages in addressing various mental health concerns that impact their quality of life.
Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, confidence issues, workplace or relationship challenges, or navigating the complexities of grief and stress, I equip you with the tools, skills and confidence to navigate life in alignment with your values, aspirations, and overall wellbeing.
Drawing on rigorous training and evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and mindfulness, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs and goals. I achieve this by creating an environment of autonomy and collaboration.
In addition to my clinical work, I support future psychologists through the Psychlings Podcast, where I interview leading Professors and Clinicians to explore the latest insights and trends in psychological practice, research, and education.
On the weekend, you might find me down the beach with my family having a surf and letting my highly energetic Hungarian Vizsla dig endless holes in the sand.
About Julian McNally
I am an experienced counselling and coaching psychologist, and clinical supervisor with training in:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Training (ACT)
- Solution-Focused Therapy and Coaching (SFT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP)
- Clinical Supervision
- Feedback Informed Therapy (FIT) and Progress Monitoring to improve therapeutic effectiveness.
I work with adult clients to help you achieve your most fulfilling life regardless of background or circumstances. I am passionate about using evidence-based approaches such as ACT and FAP, but also about making the therapeutic experience suit each individual client. For this reason, I don’t have an ideal client profile or list of disorders I ‘specialise’ in. I’ve succeeded (or rather helped clients succeed) with
- Anxiety
- Depression and bipolar disorder
- Adjusting to life changes
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Psychotic experiences
- Panic attacks
- Performance anxiety
- Relationship problems
- Parenting
